Thirty-five years professional experience as aviation and severe storms meteorologist issuing national and international level products. Adapted easily to progression of computer systems; often provided documentation for other members of the staff. Daily use of diagnostic tools and forecast models. Frequent contacts with users of text and graphic products. Able to consistently meet strict product issuance deadlines and resolve problems related to product transmission.
Provided training and orientation for users of Aviation Weather Center products via professional conference presentations and visits to Federal Aviation Administration and National Weather Service offices. Initiated new means for customer outreach, feedback and comment via printed forms and email.
WORK HISTORY
May 2001-present - Independent Contractor with Driveaway USA, Lee's Summit MO, KS, providing transporter or truck relocation services. Responsible for moving all sizes and types of vehicles for clients nationwide. Responsible for contacting customers, arranging pickup and drop-off and insuring safe and on time delivery of wide ranges of vehicles.
Jan 2000-June 2001 - Contract courier in the Kansas City area with CD&L Courier service.
1982-1999 - National Weather Service, Aviation Weather Center, Kansas City. Aviation Meteorologist. Created international graphic depiction of meteorological conditions hazardous to aviation. These products are used in over-water flights. Also proficient in creating in-flight aviation advisories for the contiguous United States. Products include Sigmets and Airmets advising aviators of hazardous icing, turbulence and low cloud conditions. Retired December 1999.
1971-1982 National Weather Service - Public Service, Severe Local Storms and Aviation Units within the National Severe Storms Forecast Center, Kansas City. Performed hydrologic duties while in Public Service Unit including issuance of flood advisories and collection of river and rainfall reports from Cooperative Observers.
1966-1971 - United States Air Force. Weather Officer - duty locations: Tactical Air Command Forecast Center, Langley AFB VA, Base Weather Station, Takhli AFB, Thailand and Alternate National Military Command Center, Ft. Ritchie MD.

1981-1989 - Owned and operated the Chan Chan Restaurant, Metcalf South Shopping Center, Overland Park, KS. Oriental fast food restaurant in regional mall.
